Re: Configuring an HP MSA1000 using a serial cable

First to access the MSA1000 via the command line interface (CLI) you will need to use the RJ45Z to serial cable that came with your MSA1000.

Once you have the cable connected to your laptop/workstation/server accessing the CLI simply involves starting Windows HyperTerminal with the following connection settings:

Connect using: COM1
Bits per second: 19200
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: None

Once connected, it may be necessary to press the Enter key until the CLI> prompt is displayed, after which commands can be issued to configure the MSA.
