PCI/E Parallel card in DL180G6 server

I have a PCI/E parallel card, and after I insert it into the DL180G6 server, it returns me 'PCI Express Uncorrectable Error'.

The DL180G6 server has RAID card installed.

Any advice/comments are highly appreciated.

Re: PCI/E Parallel card in DL180G6 server

I sounds as if the Parallel PCIe card that you are trying to used is not supported.  Have you verified that this card is actually supported by the system?  If you remove the card will your system boot?  Lastly if you insert another PCIe card (such as a NIC) does the system give you any errors?

Re: PCI/E Parallel card in DL180G6 server
It is a general PCI/E parallel I bought from shop. I contact my local HP support and they could simulate the same problem from their office. I would like to ensure DL180 G6 server support PCI/E card, and I would like to know what setting I should make in RBSU. Thanks,

Re: PCI/E Parallel card in DL180G6 server

The DL180 G6 supports PCIe cards, it has 4 PCIe slots by default.  Here are the quick specs for that server http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13248_na/13248_na.html#Standard%20Features

Try using a different PCIe slot, maybe the x4 one.  Also try to verify that another PCIe card will work in the slot are you trying to use, there could be a problem with the actual PCIe port on the system board.

Re: PCI/E Parallel card in DL180G6 server
I have a riser in that server. One side of it is connecting to RAID, and the other side has three PCIe slots. I tiried two (one is too close to the top cover, there is not enough space put the card in), but they both have the same problem. I put that PCIe card into a Dell PC and it works fine. I also tried updated the BIOS to the latest version (mar 31, 2010), it did no help. In the RBSU setup, there are two parameters for the PCIe setup. One is about the power, we set auto. One is the selection of Gen1 and Gen2. I tried both Gen 1 and Gen 2, both are no good. With the PCIe card installed, I can see the server recognizes the card as there is message shown the driver is loaded and updated (it showed the version number, I did not copy it). From other forum it said restting the CMOS may help, I tried, but again, no good. Anything else I can try?
