DL385 G6 Memory configuratin
I’ve been trying to upgrade the RAM in our new DL385 G6 and I’ve run into problem. The machine came with 8Gb preinstalled (4 x 2gb sticks) and I requested an upgrade kit so that I could upgrade the RAM to 16Gb.  I was sent is two 4Gb sticks, s/n 499277-061. If I understand the manual the higher capacity sticks have to go in the slots furthest away from the processors. By that logic, I placed one 4gb stick in slot one and the two 2gb sticks in slots 2 and 3, then mirrored that pattern one the other side, obviously. No go; “invalid memory configuration” (or something to that effect) during boot and nothing else after that. I then tried every other configuration I could think of and sitll nothing.  Am I correct in assuming that I need two 4Gb sticks in slots 1 and 2 in order to fill up that bank?
