DESCRIPTION
After updating the ProLiant DL180 G6 server System ROM to the version dated 5/19/2010 from a previous System ROM version, ProLiant DL180 G6 servers with redundant fan configurations may display a System POST Error 627 and then remain in a wait state for operator input. Once this occurs, the Base Management Controller (BMC) is inactive and the user cannot communicate with the HP Lights-Out 100 (LO100) Remote Management. In addition, the fans will run at a high speed.
RESOLUTION
A future release of the System ROM will include an update to correct this issue and prevent the System POST Error 627 from occurring.
If the server has been updated with the System ROM version dated 5/19/2010; as a workaround, power-cycle the server by unplugging the AC power cord. Power cycling using the power button will not resolve the issue.
Note: This issue will only occur one time; after the server has been AC power cycled the error will not reoccur.
HP recommends that ProLiant DL180 G6 servers with redundant fans not be updated to the System ROM dated 5/19/2010.
